In the Bus

action commissioned 2008 & 2007

“Do you think I am good-looking, common or ugly?” I asked this in different buses in cities in province Noord-Holland.
I was dressed as a waitress, with a tray in my hand, with stamps laying on it. The answer they chose, they could stamp on my body: legs, arms, neck and head. At the end of the day, I looked like a walking statue.
Later I performed this during Het Nationale Cultuurbal, which was another interesting experience. The project was commissioned by the festival Karavaan (part of KCNH: Kunst en Cultuur Noord-Holland), the bus company Connexxion and Kunstenaars & CO.

“How are you?", I asked in buses in 2007. I asked a fellow artist to join me. We were both dressed in white suits.
The answers we marked into three categories: good, okay and bad. The result was shown as three piles of paper in a showcase, as if it were a museum piece, in the Kunstcentrum Zaanstad.
The project was commissioned by Kunstcentrum Zaanstad, Artes and Connexxion.
